Attitude
This is the first writing in a long time for
me. Yet it is a new year and I am, as most trying to start on a good turn.
We have to look at all 25 fighting principal to get grasp on this word and
what it means to all who may read this article both on the world wide web
and to those it will be mailed to that do not have a internet connection.
I have some picture from a Sifu I know who allowed me to copy some
drawings of the 25 principals by another Sifu.
Anyway the first is of and eagle falling out of
the sky, in totally relaxation. Her we see the bird of prey doing a
natural hunt. The attitude is of achieving food and survival of himself
and possibly his or her family. To the eagle it is part of life, not good,
not bad just a part of life. On the other hand as human beings now days we
have to be trained in this attitude. We are cared for and protected almost
to much as children now days.
Picture number two is of two hands, one grasping another,
called, ”circle for the counter grapple.” To achieve this goal
in a conflict, on must have the confidence to do the action, to achieve
the desired result again the attitude is created in a human by practicing
this movement thousands of time till it is perfection in ones mind.
Picture three is of arm and fist extended straight out in
front and an arrow is draw alongside the arm and fist. “shortest
distance between two points is a straight line.” Such as the way an
arrow my fly to the target. Again the confidence and attitude that this is
achievable the mind, an again trained in to someone with constant
practice.
We move down the list to number eight. Attack the attacker (
or aggression upon aggression ) This drawing is of two large male rams
fighting for the right of dominance. Again the true attitude of control
and power of the animal world. Here one must stand stronger than the other
through force and uncontrollable urges of mating that leads to these royal
battles in the high mountains, that can be heard for miles and miles away.
The ninth principal is in my mind one of the most important
when it comes to attitude. In this drawing is a sword and shield that have
seen many battles. Here we look at the past of a warrior who has stood the
test of time and battle. The knowledge that you need a superior attitude
to survive a battle is a great victory indeed. But to be able to survive
many battle is more than a victory it tells of ones knowledge. Again Wing
Chun shows the way. Disciple is the highest form of attitude, disciple
gives the knowledge, knowledge gives a better out look on life therefore
giving a better attitude in life itself. Being able to defend oneself and
family, allows one to live in a better frame of mind as one moves through
life’s difficulties much easier.
There are like I said 25 principals but we are picking out
only a few to look at here. Next I think we need to move down to number
nineteen. This drawing is of a bunch of bamboo reeds bending in the wind.
This drawing represent flexibility. A good attitude shows a great amount
of flexibility in life.
Principals twenty one, and twenty three, co-inside
with each other, there is only a fine line between the two principals. The
attitude that one learns is what separates these two principals. The
drawing of principal twenty one “Killing sprit” is a female
praying mantis eating the male praying mantis. This is done to give her
strength for laying her eggs. No compassion here. The young of the species
must survive for the species to survive. The attitude is again straight
forward and direct survival. Principal twenty three is “ No
Compassion”. A black widow spider her in this drawing showing and
representing almost the same as twenty one. A black widow spider shows no
compassion in here life. She kills to survive and she will kill the male
on here spices to keep her young alive also. The difference is she can
choose not to kill a male if he is fast and clever enough in his advance
to her. That takes a lot of attitude to advance on the female. She is
about three to four times larger than him and he knows before the
advancing that he could die very quickly.
All of the above writing is to show how attitude can move you
through life good or bad is up to the individual person. How you look at a
situation. How you react to a situation
