DESCRIPTION;
Perennial with ascending or creeping stems and leaves. Leaves form in
clumps of three and are oval in shape. Four leaves in a clump are rare and
that is where the old wives tale came from that a four leaf clover is good
luck. They are a very
effective source of nectar for bees. They have
flowering heads in colors of red and white telling you witch type you
have. They are very abundant in nutrition.
CHARACTER;
Internal, Blood Cleaning. External, Cancer deterrent. Although it is not
recognized by orthodox medicine..
CONSTITUTES;
Tannins, Organic Acids, Organic Pigments, and Proteins.
ACTIONS;
Astringent, Expectorant, Antispasmodic, and properties yet to be
discovered.
CULTIVATION;
Grows well in all types of soil. Best time to pick is in May till June.
Pick flowers and leaves while young and fresh. Both leaves and flowers can
be dried for later use.
PARTS USED;
Whole plant can be cooked like any greens, containing a great amount of
proteins. Flowers can be used in teas. Leaves can be used in teas and
poultice for the skin. Teas can be drank to clean the blood.
USES;
Medical and Nutritional.
BODY PARTS EFFECTED;
ALL. blood and skin can be effected.
COMPATIBLE HERBS;
Blue Violet, Burdock, Yellow Dock, Dandelion, Rock Rose, and Goldenseal.
All these herbs are blood cleansing also.
CAUTIONS;
Bloating can happen if to many flowers are eaten at one time, if they are
soaked in salt water before eaten this may not happen. Leaves can do this
also if eaten raw so it is best to cook leaves and roots.
