Description;
 
Other names, are Canada or Vermont Snake Root also Indian ginger. Both the wild and the domestic are grown all over the world. The soil has to be very rich, and needs plenty of water.
Picking more tropical climates. Grown in the United States from Maine to Michigan.
It has lacey looking leaves with small flowers in April & May .
Flowers are not often seen because of size and color. Plant size & shape depends on soil and moisture.

Pungent, Hot, Dry

 Constitutes;
Volatile Oil, Rhizomes

Actions;
Circulatory, Stimulant, Relaxes peripheral blood vessels, promotes sweating expectorant, prevents nausea & vomiting,  Carminative, antiseptic– Topically increases blood flow to sprains and bruises.

Cultivation;
In the United States it is harvested in April & May. In the tropical areas it is harvested year around. The roots regenerates themselves quickly. Can be found in all grocery stores year around

 Parts Used;
Roots, ( fresh and dried ).  Essential Oil is extracted from root.

 Uses;
For Colds, Colon, Spasms, Constipation, Contagious diseases,
Cramps, Indigestion, Gas, headaches, Morning sickness, Nausea, Sinus, Congestion, Externally for Mumps and arthritis.

Internally; In all cases abstract an infusion or a tincture can be taken 3 times per day. ( Use fresh root )

Externally; For Mumps and arthritis. 5 to 10 drops of essential oil w-25 ml of almond oil.
